  1. Andra, we are completely bowled over here, thank you so much! No one has ever done anything like this for Al before….his own personal toilet lizard….what small boy could want more!

I expect you’ll be hearing from Al’s mum – I’ve just forwarded her the link…

    • I’m just appalled at my horrendous lack of housekeeping skills. I wish I could’ve gotten it to move, but it freezes when it sees people.

    • I loved this . . . too funny!

At first, I assumed the “certain little boy in England” would be Felix . . . but Big Al would have been my 2nd guess. 😉

That lizard is too close to the “comfort station” for comfort.

      SHOO!!! SHOO!!!

      • Big Al was fascinated with the original post about the toilet lizard. It was the only way I could send him one.

  2. I’m laughing SO HARD at “there’s the toilet…there’s the lizard.” Good thing you didn’t need to use the loo just then, because you would have been a total sitting duck for whatever reptilian things he had in store.

    • Part of his fascination, I think, revolved around the lizard’s proximity to the toilet. I had to make sure he saw the toilet right next to the lizard. 🙂

Al has just watched the lizard in the toilet. He was captivated and particularly liked the bit when you panned to the toilet! At that point he roared the biggest belly laugh! He made me play it over and over!

Every little boy should have a toilet lizard!

Thanks for thinking of him. It so appealed to him.

    • I am glad to hear it. It was the best solution I could divine for his wanting one. I think I would get in all kinds of trouble for trying to send him a live one. Plus, I could never touch it. 🙂

  4. Oh, I have to “borrow” Al’s lizard…..betcha I know a boy (or a few) who will love this!

    January 22, 2012
    • Send it to anyone you can think of, Karen. I’m sure Al will be happy to ‘share.’

haha! What a cute lizard! I love reptiles! I had a group of lizards in military school (college) that I hid in a travel cage behind femine hygiene products during room inspections. I named them after Army battle drills: Ambush, Raid, Recon, and Movement To Contact. I was kind of a dork. Mine weren’t as cute as yours!

    • That is hilarious, Tricia. How would your kids react if you did that now? I bet they’d love it.

  7. So very cool for Big Al. Not only does he now have his own Loo Lizard, he can forever refer to you as the Lizard Lady. I know how little boys think, BWAAA HAAA HAAA!

  8. OMG I laughed so hard at this. LOL Thanks Andra… Laughter is good medicine. Giggle.

    • Especially when one imagines me lying prone on the bathroom floor at the base of the potty talking to a lizard……………

      January 22, 2012
  9. So SWEET!

    January 22, 2012
  10. I just couldn’t believe you spoke so sweetly! Nary a shriek in hearing range!

    January 22, 2012
    • I have been dragging my phone to the toilet with me for two weeks trying to capture that thing for Al. It only comes out at night.

      January 22, 2012
  11. Oh how your mind does work! This is actually quite charming. Al has captured my heart, too, and alas, I have nothing to share with him, but I’m so glad you do! Debra

    • Yes, as Lou said, I will forever be the Lizard Lady or the Toilet Lady or the Lizard Lady of the Loo. 🙂

      January 22, 2012
  12. I have an Al-sized boy named Felix (true story) who will love this when he wakes up!

    January 22, 2012
    • Cameron, please let me know how he reacts. Kate’s stories of Big Al were priceless. They apparently had to have conversations about lizards in the toilet for a while after he first saw the picture on my blog.

  13. lol! isn’t it wonderful what the internet has done for us. there is Andra in the US making a film of her loo-lizard for a little boy in the UK, and we all round the world are watching and having a giggle

    • It’s one of my favorite things about blogging, Sidey – how close I feel to everyone, wherever they are.

      January 23, 2012
  14. Why didn’t you just pick it up? Such a cute lizard. You should have gotten way up close. Or, as I said picked it up so we could see it better.

    January 23, 2012
    • This girl does not touch lizards. I will leave that to you.

Adorable! I can see why Big Al was so bowled over. I want my own loo lizard!

    January 23, 2012
    • He doesn’t look adorable up close. He has eyes like a snake. They sort of swirl around the center. Reptilian. *shudder*

      January 23, 2012
  16. We don’t get them in the house, thankfully, but we get ALL kinds outside ON the house, sidewalk, pool wall (above the waterline). Not in the water closet – MLB might have a heart attack!

    January 24, 2012
    • Still, if they’re everywhere, we ladies could still suffer heart failure. We have a creeping fig on the front stair, and every time I prune it back, I know I’m going to sever a lizard in half and pull it away in my bear hands……..I will instantaneously die.
